Despite common sense and the laws of economics, Conduit has been thwarting good taste, progress, and consensus for over twenty years. While we do not have a set word limit, please know that our editors are less likely to choose longer pieces simply because it leaves less room in the journal for other work. Conduit is a biannual literary journal that is at once direct, playful, inventive, irreverent, and darkly beautiful. We welcome submissions that deepen our understanding of what poetry is and can be. We are committed to enriching and continuing the tradition of poetry in the present day. Ideal submissions are well-crafted, fresh and edgy. Simultaneous submissions are not accepted. The editors at Vallum strongly encourage Indigenous writers, writers of colour, gender non-conforming writers, differently abled writers, LGBTQI2S+ writers, writers with mental or physical illnesses, and writers who are otherwise affected by structural inequality to submit their work for consideration.The Louisville Review accepts unsolicited submissions of fiction and poetry. Each submission requires a minimum $3 donation any donation over $20 will be issued a charitable receipt. Vallum is interested in original and previously unpublished work. Submissions are accepted through Submittable only. All files must be in MP3 or MPEG-4 file format and cannot exceed 95MB in size. Vallum also accepts submissions of audio and video poems for possible inclusion in the digital edition. If your work has been published in our most recent issue, please wait one issue before submitting again, at which point we will be happy to consider more of your work. We do not receive messages sent via Submittable. Simultaneous submissions are acceptable, but please let us know at if a single poem should be withdrawn from consideration.
